  • Opus Orchestra Auditions 2023

    Opus Orchestra is seeking musicians of all orchestral instruments to add to our Priority Player List.

    Auditions will take place on Sunday, Oct 8, 2023

    Entries close Friday, 29 September, 2023

    Confirmation of auditions and further instructions will be sent to candidates within 72 hours after the closing date.

  • Audition Requirements and Excerpts

    All pieces are required to be played unaccompanied.

    Please prepare all excerpts according to the cuts.

    In addition to the excerpts please prepare a concerto movement or equivalent

  • General Manager

    General Manager

    c. 0.5 FTE (20 hours p/w) depending on candidate

    Role:

    Reporting to the Board, the General Manager takes overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the orchestra and works closely with the Board and Music Director on the strategic planning, financial management and artistic direction of the organisation. You will be required to travel across the region several times a year for meetings and during concert tours.

    We are looking for:

    An organized, detail-oriented individual with a strong track record in arts administration and leadership.

    Someone living in the Waikato or Bay of Plenty Region with a passion for the arts in their community and the ability to build professional networks and relationships across the region.

    A candidate who is self-motivated and comfortable working independently from home.

    A team player who can work collaboratively in an online environment.

    Terms:

    This is a fixed-term contract for 1 year, with the potential to transition into a permanent role. While the position is part-time, we are open to discussing the specific hours to suit the successful candidate’s needs. Salary $75,000-$80,000 pro rata.
