Beethoven Unwrapped
Following the success of last year’s Beethoven Unwrapped, Opus Orchestra returns with another chance to discover the music of one of the greatest composers of all time in a concert experience that is immersive, accessible and emotionally powerful.
This year, guest conductor Michael Joel will lead audiences inside Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4, revealing the ideas, rhythms, colours and surprises that make the work so compelling. Opus Orchestra will “unwrap” the symphony, bringing key moments to life through musical examples, storytelling and insight.
After the interval, the orchestra will perform the complete symphony. With the first half fresh in their ears, audiences can experience Beethoven’s Fourth with new understanding and appreciation, hearing its wit, energy and brilliance from the inside out.
Beethoven Unwrapped is for everyone. Whether you are a longtime concertgoer or hearing Beethoven for the first time, this is a warm, open and accessible way to experience one of Beethoven’s most exhilarating symphonies.
